RHS 1995-027.01 Dr. Thomas Tillotson Collection: Thomas Tillotson Portrait  1780-1832  A photograph of the Thomas Tillotson portrait by Gilbert Stuart, showing him seated on a chair with a 3/4 view of torso and face. Tillotson was Surgeon General of United States Army under George Washington from 1780 until the end of the Revolutionary War. From 1790 he represented Dutchess County in the New York State Senate and Assembly. From 1801-1807 he was New York's Secretary of State. RHS 1995-027.02 Dr. Thomas Tillotson Collection: Linwood, Thomas Tillotson Residence  1780-1883  Built of imported English brick circa 1780, this five bay residence of Thomas Tillotson and Margaret Beekman Livingston Tillotson was torn down in 1883 to make room for a new house for New York City brewer Jacob Ruppert. On back is also written "Taken in 1939." 3) Note attached to back of photo states "Schermerhorn Pharmacy? 1950's."
